DBM: Qualified government employees to receive 2024 PBB starting October

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has announced that qualified government employees can expect to start receiving their Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) for Fiscal Year 2024 beginning in October.

During the Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon program, DBM Assistant Secretary Gerald Janda stated that government agencies are required to submit their performance reports within this month. Following the submission, validating agencies and the technical working group will have a 60-day period to review the documentation. The final assessment results are expected in September or October, allowing agencies to grant the incentives from October through December.

How the PBB Amount is Determined

The PBB is not a fixed amount but is instead calculated as a percentage of an employee's monthly basic salary, based on the agency's total performance score. Agencies must achieve at least 70 points to qualify for the incentive.

Agency Total Score PBB Rate (% of Monthly Basic Salary)
100 points65%
95 points61.75%
90 points58.5%
85 points55.25%
80 points52%
75 points48.75%
70 points45.5%

Funding and Eligibility

Funding for national government agencies is already provided for under the 2026 General Appropriations Act. Meanwhile, funding for local government units and government-owned or -controlled corporations will be sourced from their respective approved local funds and corporate operating budgets.

To be eligible for the full grant, employees generally must have rendered at least nine months of service with a "Very Satisfactory" rating. Those with three to nine months of service may receive a pro-rated amount. Please note that personnel found guilty of administrative or criminal cases by final judgment, or those who fail to meet administrative requirements like the submission of their 2023 Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN), are disqualified from receiving the bonus.
