Continuous heavy downpours brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) have forced the suspension of classes and government work across several parts of Luzon for Monday, August 10, 2026. Local government units and academic institutions issued announcements to ensure public safety amid localized flooding and heightened risks of flash floods and landslides.

Metro Manila

  • Marikina City – Suspended in all levels (public and private), covering both face-to-face and online classes.

Provinces & Municipalities

  • Ilocos Sur - classes in all levels (public and private); work in public offices.
  • Nueva Ecija - all levels, public and private
  • Bacoor, Cavite - all levels, public and private
  • San Simon, Pampanga - all levels, public and private
  • Abra – Suspended in all levels (public and private); work in all government offices is likewise suspended.
  • Dagupan – No face-to-face classes in all levels (public and private), all government work except essential services.
  • Batangas (Lemery) – No face-to-face classes in all levels (public and private); schools will shift to modular or online distance learning.

Universities & Colleges

  • University of Santo Tomas (UST) – No face-to-face classes across all levels; instruction will proceed via the Enriched Virtual Mode (EVM).
