Class Suspensions for Monday, August 24, 2026
Local government units and school administrations have begun releasing announcements regarding class suspensions and shifts to alternative delivery modes for Monday, August 24, 2026, following weather disturbances and monsoon impacts.
Present Weather Conditions
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to bring persistent rain showers and severe thunderstorms across vast portions of Luzon. According to state weather reports from PAGASA, monsoon rains threaten low-lying and mountainous areas with localized flash flooding and landslides. Meteorologists are also tracking Typhoon Saudel outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), which is forecasted to enter PAR on Monday, August 24, potentially intensifying the monsoon rainfall further over the coming days.
