As of Sunday evening, March 9, 2025, several local government units (LGUs) have announced adjustments to class schedules for.Monday, March 10, 2025, due to the prevailing hot weather conditions to safeguard the health and well-being of students, teachers, and school personnel.


Santa Cruz, Laguna: Mayor Egay San Luis has ordered the suspension of in-person classes in all levels in both public and private schools from March 10 to March 14, 2025. During this period, schools are instructed to shift to asynchronous learning, utilizing self-learning modules or online platforms.

Santa Maria, Bulacan: The local government has modified class schedules for all levels in both public and private schools from March 10 to March 14, 2025. Face-to-face classes will be conducted from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM, while asynchronous or online classes will take place from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Metro Manila

Marikina City: Under Executive Order No. 05, series of 2025, face-to-face classes at all levels in public and private schools are automatically suspended when the heat index reaches 42°C or higher. Schools are required to shift to alternative delivery modes, including distance learning modalities, either synchronous or asynchronous.

Valenzuela City: City Ordinance No. 1175, Series of 2024, mandates the suspension of in-person classes when the heat index reaches 42°C or higher. Classes are to transition to online synchronous or asynchronous formats under such conditions.

According to the latest heat index forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), no areas or synoptic stations are expected to reach the "danger" range of 42 to 51 degrees Celsius on Monday, March 10, 2025.

The Department of Education (DepEd) has reiterated that school heads can suspend in-person classes and shift to alternative delivery modes in extreme heat and other calamities that may compromise the health and safety of learners, teachers, and non-teaching personnel.
