Tropical Storm Enteng (Yagi) has intensified and is approaching landfall over the northern Aurora-southeastern Isabela area. As of 1:00 PM today, the storm's center was located off the coast of Casiguran, Aurora, with maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h and gusts reaching 105 km/h. Enteng is moving north-northwest at 20 km/h. Strong to gale-force winds extend up to 200 km from the center.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 is in effect for several areas, including: Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and parts of Kalinga,
Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora. This signal indicates gale-force winds with 62-88 km/h speeds, posing minor to moderate threats to life and property. Wind Signal No. 1, which covers regions such as Batanes, Ilocos Sur, and Metro Manila, warns of strong winds between 39-61 km/h, with minimal to minor impacts.
Heavy rainfall is expected, with 100-200 mm anticipated today through tomorrow afternoon in northern Quezon, Aurora, and parts of Cagayan. Rainfall amounts of 50-100 mm are expected in surrounding areas, including Cavite, Batangas, and parts of Luzon. Enhanced Southwest Monsoon will cause moderate to intense rainfall across Luzon and Visayas over the next three days.
Severe winds and coastal inundation risks are notable, with gale warnings in effect along the eastern seaboard of Luzon and the southern Luzon coast. Sea travel is risky for small vessels. Storm surge warnings suggest a minimal to moderate risk in coastal areas of Batanes, Cagayan, and other provinces.
Enteng is projected to make landfall in the northern Aurora or southeastern Isabela area within the next few hours. It will generally move northwestward and emerge over the Luzon Strait by tomorrow morning. The storm is expected to intensify further, potentially becoming a severe tropical storm by late tomorrow or Wednesday and reaching typhoon strength by Thursday.
Residents in vulnerable areas are advised to follow local evacuation orders and stay informed through official channels. The next bulletin will be issued at 5:00 PM today.
