Malacañang proclaims Aug. 8-14 as PH Space Week

In a recent proclamation, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has declared August 8 to 14 of every year as "Philippine Space Week."

This initiative aims to promote space awareness among Filipinos and highlight the significant impact of space science and technology applications on the country's socio-economic development.

The Philippine Space Agency (PhiSA) will lead the promotion of this annual event, working to identify programs, projects, and activities for the week-long celebration.

All government agencies, state universities, and non-government organizations are encouraged to actively participate in the Philippine Space Week to further support the country's space-related endeavors.

This yearly celebration coincides with the enactment of Republic Act (RA) 11363, also known as the Philippine Space Act, which focuses on advancing science and technology, fostering patriotism, and accelerating social progress through the development of space technology and applications for the benefit of Filipino citizens.
