DepEd sets early Christmas break for schools

Public schools will have an early Christmas break per DepEd Order No. 34 s2022 or School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2022–2023.

According to the school calendar, the Christmas break will start on Monday, December 19, and classes will resume on January 4, 2023.

"The Christmas break shall begin on December 19, 2022, Monday. Classes shall resume on January 4, 2023, Wednesday," said DepEd Order.

December 16, the last school day of 2022

In DepEd Order No. 34 s. 2022, or School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2022–2023, public schools will have their Christmas break from December 19, 2022 - January 3, 2024. Since December 17-18 falls on Saturday and Sunday, the last day of classes for 2022 will be Friday, December 16.

The order covers public elementary and high schools nationwide. As for private schools, it would be up to the schools' discretion to implement the order, as they already have their school calendar.
