Here's the latest update on opening of SY 2020-2021, moratorium of loans and more


Recently, a lawmaker urged the Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Technical Education and Skills, Development Authority (TESDA) and the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) to postpone the opening of classes in June to August or September due to severe health threats of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The Department of Education (DepEd) through Usec. Annalyn M. Sevilla, in an interview with DZBB Super Radyo on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 discussed on frequently asked questions in the department. One of the questions Sevilla answered in her interview is "Kailan bubuksan ang susunod na school year?" and "Matutuloy ba tayo sa June?"


The topics she discussed include opening of school year 2020-2021, moratorium on loan payments, roles of teachers and Deped employees during COVID-19 crisis - spirit of Bayanihan, completion/computation of grades for SY 2019-2020, continuity of learning while on calamity/crisis - online DepEd Commons; instilling of values and discipline to learners through responsible parenthood and use of schools for isolation of PUMs and PUIs.
