Duterte approves school opening on September in GCQ areas

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to move the opening of School Year (SY) 2020-2021 to September in areas placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.


Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that the president approved the recommendations to further extend the ECQ to combat the spread of COVID-19.
