Doterte approves IATF recommendations to extend ECQ in high risk areas

President Rodrigo Duterte, on Friday, April 24 approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF)  to extend the enhanced community quarantine in high-risk areas until May 15.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that the president approved the recommendations to further extend the ECQ to combat the spread of COVID-19.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MED) according to Presidential Spokesperson recommended a second extension of the enhanced community quarantine until May 15 in areas considered high risk.

Harry Roque said Enhanced Community Quarantine, shall remain Metro Manila, Region III, IV-A and other areas where COVID-19 infection is high (ECQ). 

The IATF, according to Roque recommends that Enhanced Community Quarantine will continue in several areas including National Capital Region until May 15, 2020.
