DepEd to end ERF, issues new guidelines for selection, promotion for teachers

The Department of Education (DepEd) has issued new guidelines for recruitment, selection, promotion (ESF) for teachers which will no longer require the use of Equivalent Record Form (ERF). The new policy will enable teachers to be promoted to higher positions based on their attainment of set competencies rather than waiting for a vacancy like in the present set-up.

In line with the new professional standards for teachers, DepED has issued DepEd Order No. 42, s. 2017 entitled National Adoption and Implementation of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST).

This PPST will address concerns of teachers with regards to career development. This policy shall be used for the selection and promotion of teachers. All performance appraisals for teachers shall based on this set of standards.

This policy shall be used as a basis for all learning and development programs for teachers to ensure that teachers are properly equipped to effectively implement the K to 12 Program.

In connection to this Rommel c. Bautista, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent of Cavite has issued a division memorandum dated  January 24, 2020 announcing the deadline of submission of documents for ERF.
'"Due to anticipated release of the new guidelines on Recruitment, Selection and Placement (RSP) for Teachers which will no longer require the use of Equivalent Record Form (ERF) and the Philippines Professional Standard for Teachers (PPST) will be the basis for reclassification, this Office will accept ERF documents for Teacher II, Teacher III and Head Teacher positions until February 28, 2020 (Friday)," the memo stated.

regarding sa salary grade like teacher 4 5 and so on, in my own opinion why not focus first in the real problem in the DepEd. Will it really change the quality of education they are intending to change.... wag ng kung ano-ano pa ang bigyan pansin.... kahit naman mabago iyan iyon pa rin ang sweldo... ang baguhin ay ang sweldo......
