DepEd LIS Guide: Step-by-Step SHS Enrollment & Elective Tagging

A comprehensive and easy-to-follow guide for Class Advisers and School Administrators handling Senior High School (SHS) enrollment and elective tagging in the Learner Information System (LIS).

IMPORTANT ADVISORY:

The SHS Enrollment Facility for Beginning of School Year 2026-2027 is open for encoding from 30 September 2026 to 30 November 2026. Within this period, all schools shall ensure the enrollment of their SHS learners and properly tag their appropriate electives in the Learner Information System (LIS).

All Grade 11 learners shall be enrolled under the Strengthened Senior High School (SSHS) program, including Grade 12 learners under the SSHS pilot schools. Meanwhile, those Grade 12 learners in the K-12 SHS curriculum shall be enrolled under the regular SHS program.

Before enrollment and tagging, the concerned personnel shall facilitate the necessary updating in the Enhanced Basic Education Information System (EBEIS) and LIS on or before 13 October 2026:

Phase 1: SHS Enrollment of Learners

  1. Log in to your account: Access the portal by going to lis.deped.gov.ph and logging in using your account credentials.
  2. Select section and enroll: Navigate to your senior high school class list, choose your assigned section, and click "ENROLL".
  3. Search for the learner: Choose from the following search options:
    • By LRN (Most Recommended): Type the Learner Reference Number (LRN), click "Search," and then click the downward "ENROLL" arrow.
    • By Name: Use this option only if the record is not found using the search by LRN. Enter the First Name, Middle Name, and Surname, click "Search by name," and then click the "ENROLL" arrow.
Note: Always verify that you are enrolling the correct learner before proceeding, then click "CONTINUE".
  4. Select enrollment category: Choose the student's status based on what is indicated in their submitted documents:
    • For Regular Grade 11/12: Select "Grade 10 from Local Accredited or Recognized School" (or the relevant option based on the documents) and click "CONTINUE" if verified correct.
    • For Other Cases: Choose the appropriate option from the list matching the learner's documents, then click "CONTINUE".
  5. Fill in and update information: Complete and update all other required learner information on the page, then click the "ENROLL" button at the bottom.
  6. Save and proceed: A pop-up message stating "LEARNER ENROLLMENT SAVED" will appear. Click "ENROLL LEARNER" to finalize the process and proceed to enroll your other learners.

Phase 2: Tagging of Elective Subjects

For public school advisers, elective tagging can be done directly through your own LIS account without requiring System Admin privileges.

  1. Log in: Go to lis.deped.gov.ph and log in using your standard Class Adviser account.
  2. Access the Master List: Click on the "Learner Information System" link and navigate to the master list of your assigned advisory section.
  3. Locate the Learner: Find the specific learner whose electives need to be updated and click "View profile".
  4. Open Elective Tagging: On the learner's profile page, locate and click the "Elective tagging" button.
  5. Add Electives: Click the "Add Elective" button.
  6. Select and Save: Select the appropriate "Cluster" and "Elective" from the dropdown options corresponding to the learner's Strengthened SHS track, then click "Save".
Note: If an elective was tagged in error and needs to be removed, simply return to the learner's profile, click the "Elective Tagging" button, and click "Remove" next to the incorrect elective tag.
