DepEd Survey on Medical Services Preferences for Employees

12 September 2024 – The Department of Education (DepEd), through its Bureau of Human Resources and Organizational Development (BHROD), has announced the launch of an online survey to evaluate the preferences of DepEd employees regarding medical services. This initiative aims to collect baseline data on health maintenance organization (HMO) and other health insurance needs.

This survey is part of preparations for the upcoming annual medical allowance, as Executive Order No. 64, s stipulated. 2024, signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Starting in 2025, eligible government employees, including public school teachers, will receive a medical allowance of up to Php 7,000. This allowance is intended to help offset the costs associated with HMO-type services and other medical expenses.



The survey is open to all permanent, regular, or plantilla DepEd employees, encompassing teaching and non-teaching staff across various levels of governance. Participation is encouraged from all employees regardless of rank, gender, age, ethnicity, or disability status.

To participate, employees must complete the survey form available via this link: bit.ly/HMOsSurvey or by scanning the provided QR code. The deadline for submission is September 30, 2024. It is important to use an official DepEd email account to access the survey.

Regional and Division IT Officers have been instructed to support employees who encounter difficulties accessing their DepEd email accounts.

ADVISORY

12 September 2024 - The Department of Education (DepEd), through the Bureau of Human Resources and Organizational Development (BHROD), is currently conducting an online survey to assess the preferences of DepEd employees in availing of medical services and to gather baseline data on HMO and other health insurance needs.

Pending the utilization guidelines from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), the government will begin providing an annual medical allowance of up to Php 7,000 starting in 2025, pursuant to Executive Order No. 64, s. 2024, signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The medical allowance is available to eligible government civilian personnel, including public school teachers, to help subsidize the cost of health maintenance organization (HMO)-type services. The allowance can be used for various medical services to support public employees in preparing for health-related emergencies.

All permanent/regular/plantilla employees of DepEd, both teaching and non-teaching, from all governance levels, are encouraged to participate in the survey. This includes employees of any rank, gender, age, ethnicity, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
