DepEd cannot guarantee full P20,000 SRI for Teachers this year
DepEd cannot guarantee full P20,000 SRI for Teachers this year.
The Department of Education (DepEd) announced on Tuesday that it cannot ensure teachers will receive the entire P20,000 service recognition incentive (SRI) this year.
DepEd Assistant Secretary Francis Bringas explained that the amount is contingent on the annual "pooled savings."
Bringas added that DepEd's budget officers and regional directors will convene to determine the available funds that can be allocated for the SRI.
Historically, DepEd has been unable to provide the full P20,000 due to budget constraints. Bringas stated, "So hopefully, we can accumulate enough savings to reach the maximum amount, but we cannot guarantee that we can provide the full P20,000."
In the previous year, DepEd distributed a P15,000 SRI to its employees.
