DOH warns against false hypertension cure
The Department of Health (DOH) issued a warning on Saturday, May 20, cautioning Filipinos about a false article circulating online that claims to provide a cure for hypertension.
According to the advisory released on Saturday, the DOH emphasized that the circulating article promoting a cure for hypertension is entirely false and is not endorsed, affiliated with, or recommended by the department or its associated agencies.
The article, which appeared on a deceptive website pretending to be a reputable media network, asserts that a Filipino expert has discovered a method to eliminate blood pressure issues within a mere 14 days.
To combat the spread of misinformation, the DOH reiterated that non-communicable diseases and comorbidities such as hypertension can be prevented by adopting healthy habits like maintaining a proper diet and engaging in regular exercise.
The DOH urged the public to undergo regular check-ups and consult with their physicians to safeguard against illness. They also stressed the importance of relying on reliable sources and platforms for information.
