DepEd Anniversary Bonus 2023 Release Date
The Department of Education (DepEd) will be giving out an anniversary bonus to its employees in 2023. The bonus is worth Php 3,000 per employee, and will be given to those who have rendered at least one year of service in the department as of June 23, 2023.
Qualified personnel shall be eligible to receive an Anniversary Bonus, as specified in the internal guidelines issued by the Department of Education Central Office, with a maximum amount not exceeding Three Thousand Pesos (Php3,000.00). The distribution of this bonus shall take place no earlier than June 23, 2023.
To be eligible for the anniversary bonus, employees must also meet the following requirements:
• They must have a satisfactory performance rating.
• They must not have any pending administrative or criminal charges.
The anniversary bonus will be released not earlier than June 23, 2023.
Here are the guidelines on the grant of anniversary bonus:
• The amount of the anniversary bonus shall not exceed Php 3,000 per personnel.
• The employee must have rendered at least one year of service in the Department of Education as of June 23 of the Milestone Year.
• The employee must have a satisfactory performance rating.

• The anniversary bonus shall be given to qualified officials and employees not earlier than June 23 of the Milestone Year.

DepEd Issues Guidelines on Grant of Anniversary Bonus
November 2018 - The Department of Education (DepEd) has released DepEd Order No. 047, 2018, providing guidelines on the grant of Anniversary Bonus for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018. The order is in accordance with Administrative Order No. 263, which authorizes the grant of Anniversary Bonus to officials and employees of government entities, and the Department of Budget and Management's National Budget Circular No. 452, which clarifies the implementation of the said bonus.
The Anniversary Bonus (AB) is granted to government officials and employees to commemorate milestone years of the agency they serve. A milestone year is defined as the 15th anniversary of the government agency and every fifth year thereafter.
In determining the milestone year for the Department of Education, DepEd referred to records from the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) and a letter from NHCP Chair Dr. Rene R. Escalante. According to the letter, the modern public education system in the Philippines traces its origins to a Royal Decree issued by Queen Isabella II of Spain on December 20, 1863. This decree established a body called the Comision Superior de Instruccion Primaria, which oversaw basic education schools throughout the Philippine archipelago. The decree was later superseded by the Bureau of Education in June 1898 during the First Philippine Republic and subsequently by the Department of Public Instruction during the American Colonial Period.
Based on these historical facts, DepEd determined that the founding date of the department is June 23, 1898. This date serves as the basis for determining the milestone year of DepEd for the purpose of granting the Anniversary Bonus to its officials and employees.
DepEd emphasizes the immediate dissemination of the guidelines and strict compliance with the order. Officials and employees are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the requirements and procedures to ensure the smooth implementation of the Anniversary Bonus for FY 2018.
