DepEd to shift to alternative delivery mode on March 6-12 due to transport strike

The Departmebt of Education (DepEd) has recommended to schools to  suspend face-to-face classes and  switch to distance learning modality next week due to the transport strike.

This is due to the transport strike by drivers from March 6 to 12  to protest the jeepney phaseout in the coubtry.

According to the DepEd, instead of suspending classes, schools are advised to implement Alternative Delivery Modes of teaching.

The Marikina Local Government Unit (LGU) suspended face-to-face classes in all levels for both public and private schools in the city on March 6-12. Schools shall implement alternative learning modalities such as modular or online classes.

Several universities in the country have announced that they will temporarily move their onsite classes to online mode from March 6 to 12 due to the transport strike by drivers to protest the jeepney phaseout.

De La Salle University first announced the move of all in-person classes online on February 28 due to the transport strike next week. Aside from its Manila Campus, De La Salle's Laguna campus also announced a shift to online.
