#WalangPasok: December 13 as the last day of classes this 2019

In DepEd Order 7 s. 2019, public schools under DepEd will have the Christmas break from December 15 - January 5, 2020. But since December 14 and 15 falls on Saturday and Sunday which is not a regular day, then it is assumed that December 13 will be the last day of classes for this year 2019.

From a Facebook post, Cir Bobot, CPESTF President,said, "Our classes in December is only up to December 15 bssed on the calendar of activities of the Deped but since December 14 and 15 falls on Saturday and sunday which is not a regular day for classes logically the last day will be December 13... besides R A. 4166 alliws school activities and meeting be done on regular school days instead of Saturday and Sunday.

Cir Bobot also added the following reminders: "1. If the principal insist that Christmas party be done on a Saturday it is incumbent for them to release a memo which is duly approved by the division office; 2. Public school teachers exigency of public service; 2. Note that requests to require the attendance of public school teachers during the said period must satisfy the following conditions; 2. 1. A letter-request is submitted by the school head to the Schools Division Office.; 2. 2. Sufficient justification is provided to establish that exigency of public service exists.; 2. 3. The request is duly approved by the Schools Division Superintendent (SDS)."

"For purposes of this issuance, “exigency of public service” refers to a situation where service is urgently needed and where any delay in its execution and delivery will adversely affect the outcome of the service to clients and its effective and efficient delivery. Lets always keep our teachers and education workers safe and properly compensated in the service of caloocan teachers, " Bobot ended.
