Welcome to the ILAW Lesson Plan Generator! This tool was developed by Sir Richard R. Raqueño to help educators easily transition to the new DepEd ILAW guidelines by generating well-structured, unpacked weekly lesson plans using AI.

📝 How to Use the FREE App

Using the ILAW Lesson Planner is straightforward. Follow these steps to generate your weekly learning design:

1. Unlock the App: Upon opening the app, you will see a secure access screen. Enter the passcode BRIGHTS2026 to unlock the planner. Provide your own Google Gemini API Key. Your key is stored securely in your browser's local storage and is never sent to our servers. CLICK AUTO-DETECT MODEL.
2. Input Basic Information: Fill out the top section with your Lesson Name, Learning Area, Teacher Name, Grade/Section, Number of Sessions (2 to 5), and preferred Medium of Instruction.
3. Extract or Type Intentions:
   • Option A (Auto-Extract): Upload a Budget of Work (BOW) PDF, select your Term and Week, and click Load Entries. The AI will automatically pull the correct Content Standards, Performance Standards, and Learning Competencies.
   • Option B (Manual): Simply type or paste your competencies and standards directly into the text boxes.
4. Define Learner Context: Select the option from the dropdown menu that best describes your classroom's current readiness level and needs. This helps the AI tailor the activities to your specific learners.
5. Select Resources & References: Check the boxes for the learning resources and references you have available. You can also upload supplementary PDF or text files that you want the AI to read and include in the lesson flow.
6. Generate the Plan: Click the Draft ILAW Matrix (AI) button.
7. Export: Once generated, you can copy the text, download it as a formatted Microsoft Word Document, or generate a quick PowerPoint presentation outline!

⚠️ Important: Free API Limitations & Troubleshooting

Because this app is free, it uses a Free AI API to generate lesson plans. Please keep the following limitations in mind:

• Rate Limits: Free APIs have strict limits on the number of requests they can process per minute. If many teachers are using the app at the exact same time, you might experience a delay or an error.
• Timeout Errors: Sometimes generating a massive 5-session plan with large uploaded PDFs takes longer than the server allows, resulting in a timeout.

What to do if you encounter an error:

1. Wait and Retry: If the generation fails or the loading spinner stops unexpectedly, wait 1-2 minutes, then click the "Draft ILAW Matrix" button again.
2. Reduce File Sizes: If you are uploading reference PDFs, try to upload smaller files or only the specific pages relevant to that week.
3. Try Off-Peak Hours: If the system is consistently busy, try drafting your lesson plans during off-peak hours (early mornings or late evenings).
