DepEd Copilot Chat Training Deadline Extended to June 21

MANILA — The Department of Education (DepEd), alongside the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) and Microsoft, has officially announced a major deadline extension for the asynchronous phase of the "Copilot Chat" training program.

Originally scheduled to automatically close on June 4, 2026, the updated advisory confirms that educators now have until Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 5:00 PM to finalize their outputs and secure their professional credentials.

From Live Webinar to Self-Paced Mastery

The training initiative kicked off following a successful live Copilot Chat workshop held on May 30, 2026, via Microsoft Teams. The webinar introduced teachers to AI-driven support systems designed to create future-ready classrooms.

Missed the live session? Don't worry! Those who were not able to participate in the live webinar can still watch the full replay to catch up on the lessons before completing their asynchronous tasks.

The program has now transitioned into a self-paced, asynchronous phase where registered participants—including both DepEd public school teachers and private institution educators—can practically apply what they learned.

Nine Activities for Practical AI Integration

The asynchronous curriculum features nine structured activities designed to explore how Microsoft Copilot Chat can ease daily teaching burdens, specifically focusing on:

  • Lesson planning
  • Instructional material development
  • Administrative task optimization

For each of the nine activities, teachers are required to submit three specific components to prove validation and critical evaluation of the AI tools:

  1. The exact prompt entered into Copilot Chat.
  2. The output generated by the AI tool.
  3. A short reflection on how Copilot Chat assisted with the specific task.

Step-by-Step Training Requirements

To successfully complete the program and qualify for a Certificate of Completion alongside up to 10 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units, teachers must satisfy the following checklist through the portal:

  • Pre-Assessment and Attendance Form
  • Webinar Evaluation Form
  • Asynchronous Session (completed via the respective DepEd or Non-DepEd tracks)
  • Post-Test and Asynchronous Evaluation Form

How to Access the Learning Management System (LMS)

Participants can navigate to the landing page at projectteachneap.my.canva.site/copilotlandingpage to find their respective portal buttons. Access methods vary depending on affiliation:

Participant Type Access Link & Method
DepEd Teachers Visit learning.deped.gov.ph, log in using an official DepEd email account (via standard login or "Sign in with Microsoft"), and navigate to the Copilot Chat training course.
Non-DepEd Teachers Select the "LMS FOR NON-DEPED" portal button, log in using their registered private school or personal email account, and launch the assigned course.

Moving Toward an AI-Enabled Future

By expanding access to private school educators, the program underscores a massive nationwide effort to integrate artificial intelligence responsibly into the Philippine education system. Organizers expressed strong optimism that the extension will give busy teachers the breathing room needed to fully absorb the technology.

Organizers left participants with an encouraging parting note: “Happy learning, teachers!” reminding everyone to thoroughly validate their AI outputs before the new June 21 cutoff.
