DepEd grants ₱600 allowance for teachers in Nationwide Trimester Orientation
The Department of Education (DepEd) will grant a ₱600 meal and transportation allowance for every teacher participating in the ongoing Nationwide Trimester Orientation.
The initiative is part of the department’s preparation for the transition toward the new three-term school calendar system. The orientation aims to equip educators with the necessary guidelines regarding curriculum adjustments, grading systems, and scheduling under the trimester framework.
According to DepEd, the ₱600 stipend is intended to alleviate the travel and meal expenses of teachers during the event. The department assured that funds would be downloaded to regional and division offices to ensure that participants across the country receive their allowances promptly.
"Our teachers are the backbone of this transition. We want to ensure they are supported, not just with information, but also with the necessary resources during these training sessions," the department stated.
The orientation is expected to draw thousands of public school teachers nationwide. Educators are advised to coordinate with their respective school heads or division offices for the specific dates and venues of their cluster sessions.
