Government employees to receive PHP7,000 Annual Medical Allowance

Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman announced on Thursday a new annual medical allowance of PHP7,000 for all government employees, starting next year. The allowance, funded by a PHP9.6 billion allocation, will be granted to all government employees and help them cover Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) benefits and other medical expenses.

"This initiative is designed to support the health and well-being of our public servants," Secretary Pangandaman stated at a press briefing at the Palace. "The annual allowance can be used for various medical needs, including HMO coverage, providing greater financial security in the face of health emergencies."
