DepEd revises Brigada Eskwela Guidelines, removes awards, recognition
The Department of Education (DepEd) has revised its guidelines for the Brigada Eskwela Program implementation in response to issues and concerns. There will be no search for the Brigada Eskwela Best Implementing School Award and no certificate of recognition given to school heads and teachers for outstanding accomplishment. Instead, Schools Division Offices will recognize all elementary and secondary schools that implemented the program through a Certificate of Recognition. The SDO level recognition will focus on partners and stakeholders who contributed voluntarily. The submission of accomplishment reports will be on November to December 2022, and the awarding/distribution of the Certificate of Recognition will start on February to March 2023.

REVISIONS TO DEPED MEMORANDUM NO. 062, s.2022 (2022 Brigada Eskwela Implementing Guidelines)

1. The Department of Education (DepEd), through the External Partnerships Service (EPS), in response to the issues and concerns on Brigada Eskwela Program implementation, issues the following revisions to DepEd Memorandum No. 062, s. 2022 titled 2022 Brigada Eskwela Implementing Guidelines:
a. Item No. 14. There will be NO search for Brigada Eskwela Best Implementing School Award. Thus, the implementing guidelines and selection criteria provided under Enclosure No. 1, Section VII. Brigada Eskwela Best Implementing School Awards shall NOT be in effect. There will be NO certificate of recognition given to School Heads and Teachers which has corresponding points for outstanding accomplishment for the purpose of promotion and office/individual performance.
b. Enclosure No. 1, Section VII. Brigada Eskwela Implementing School
i. The Schools Division Offices (SDOs), through the Social Mobilization and Networking Section (SocMob) under the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD), shall recognize all elementary and secondary schools that implemented the Brigada Eskwela through a Certificate of Recognition on their compliance and on engaging partners to participate and support the effort of DepEd to prepare the schools for the opening of classes.
ii. The Schools Division Superintendent (SDS), with the assistance of the SGOD and the Division Partnership Focal Person (DPFP), shall be allowed to exercise their sound discretion as to how they will recognize the schools with exemplary implementation of Brigada Eskwela.
iii. The SDO level recognition shall focus on the partners and stakeholders on their voluntary contribution and participation to the Brigada Eskwela.
c. Submission of Brigada Eskwela Accomplishment Reports shall be on November to December 2022 and the awarding/distribution of the Certificate of Recognition for the school implementors shall start on February to March 2023.
