December 8, 2020 (Tuesday) is a special non-working holiday in the country "to commemorate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, the principal patroness of the Philippines."
That after President Duterte, on 29 December 2017, signed into law Republic Act 10966, “An Act Declaring December 8 of Every Year A Special Nonworking Holiday in the Entire Country to Commemorate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, the Principal Patroness of the Philippines” declaring 8 December of every year a special non-working holiday in the entire Philippines.
Employees who rendered work during special non-working holiday are entitled to a 30-percent overtime pay.
