How to conduct Virtual Nat'l Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) will conduct the Third Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on September 10 to continuously instill to the public earthquake preparedness amid the pandemic.

Unlike the usual conduct of the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, OCD will present a Facebook live streaming of the ceremonial pressing of the button to signal the duck, cover, and hold procedure on September 10, 2020 at 2 p.m. The public is encouraged to watch the live stream and do the duck, cover, and hold in their houses.

The Facebook live streaming of the ceremonial pressing of the button to signal the duck, cover, and hold procedure will be available on this page the moment the program starts.

"Despite our current situation, we must bear in mind the importance of keeping ourselves safe. I encourage the public to continuously engage in activities that promote earthquake safety.

In our constant effort to promote disaster resilience, everyone’s involvement is necessary.” said Civil Defense Administrator Ricardo Jalad.
