Should Modules be distributed with Answer Key to learners?
Do you agree that self learning modules MUST BE distributed with answer key to learners?
In view of the extreme urgency to provide the minimum SY 2020-2021 Quarter 1 Self-Learning Modules (SLMs) to learners on or before the opening of classes on October 5, 2020, the SDOs are given the flexibility to determine the standard technical specifications in the procurement or in-house/by administration production of printing and delivery of SLMs.
We are receiving questions about the printing and delivery of these SLMs, whether we include or not the answey key in the Self-Learning Modules (SLM) to be distributed to their learners.

Pag pinaanseran na ng mga guro perfect na sila.
Of course not paano na natin sila matest kung ganyan.
Pag may answer key parang niloloko lang natin sarili natin.
Hindi na babasahin ng mga bata ang module. Titignan na lang answer key para masagot agad mga tanong.

Toto Minerva Gayatao - I think since eto ay self learning modules, dapat may answer key para malaman nung bata kung tama ba o mali ang kanilang sagot dahil ang bata lang ang magpo-process ng lahat lahat.
May mga ganung modules na may answer key sa hulihan para may immediate feedback.
Sana ang mga SLMs ay wag gamitin mainly to grade the child, but to teach the child.
Dennis Uy Mendoza - Sa panahon ngayon.. hindi na mahalaga ang anumang kumpetisyon, ang iniisip ng ating department ay.. MATUTO ang mga bata sa KAHIT na ano pang pamamaraan yan.
Kahit pa nga i download nila pati answer key, that's OKAY, may learning pa din dun..
Again, ang concern ng ating department ay hindi na sa grades kundi sa ANO ang dapat nilang maunawaan. Tinuturuan ang mga batang maging honest at sa mga magulang naman.. responsibility.. Sa ngayon lang naman ito.. habang tayo ay nasa pandemic pa.

I definitely agree sir. Kaya nga tayo gumagawa ng LAS for our assessment sir. kaya sana ang module ay purely for self study lang, (offline teacher nila) , hindi yung stress agad sila pag nakarinig ng module.
Yes , because modules for me are the student's tool, as guide to a certain topic, in which the attached exercises are just purely for practice of evaluation to their selves if they understood such lesson. So how will they evaluate their performance at home if they didn't have the answer key?

As instructed in the instuction of each module, "You may check answers to each activity. An Answer Key is provided in the last part of the module." If you remove the answer, you are misleading the learners using your module. So it is a must to include the answer key.
Fatima Borja Colocar - YES, because these are self learning materials, not a form of assessment. They need it for immediate feedbacking since the teachers are not there to provide feedback.
OUR STAND
We all have good ideas to share. It is not what we believe, it is not what we think is right, we should implement based on the policy set by the Department of Education. "WE ARE ONE," so we should be one.

So. What is the stand of the Department?
"Di na nako basahon eh, naa na man diay answer key."(Di ko na babasahin, man answer key naman pala) That's a thought from my 7-year old daughter. ����
Kasama dapat ang answer keys. Please read Department Order No. 31, s. 2020. HIndi naman para GRADING ng bata ang mga assessment items sa module. Those are meant for their self learning evaluatin para macheck nila sarili nila kung naiintindihan ba nila ng tama ang aralin nila o hindi. Teachers are ought to give quizzes/long quizzes for written works and performance activities for performance tasks -- can be also be found in the same order.
