Partial, unofficial update on PBB 2018

Partial, Unofficial update on PBB 2018 (March 2, 2020)

The Department of Education (DepEd) through Undersecretary Annalyn M. Sevilla in her Facebook post, Monday, March 2, provided a partial and unofficial update on the grant of Performance Based Bonus (PBB) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018. The undersecretary said this update is from DepEd-BHROD.

Here's the full text of Sevilla's Facebook post:

"DepEd satisfies 15 of 19 agency eligibility indicators for FY 2018 PBB, fast tracks compliance with AO25 IATF requirements."

"The Department of Education (DepEd) wishes to update its personnel on the status of DepEd’s eligibility to receive the Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018."

"PBB is an incentive given to government employees in accordance to their performance and contribution to the accomplishment of their agency’s overall targets and commitments. The AO25 Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) sets specific conditions and reviews the agency’s compliance and accomplishments within a fiscal year to determine the eligibility of the agency and its personnel to receive PBB."

"To date, DepEd has submitted majority of the requirements for FY 2018 PBB. Based on the partial and unofficial findings by the AO25 IATF, the Department is proactively ensuring that FY 2018 PBB requirements are met. The AO25 IATF has yet to issue the complete and official validation results regarding the agency eligibility of DepEd."

"Simultaneous with the completion of the agency eligibility requirements, DepEd has already consolidated the ranking reports of schools and offices. Should DepEd be deemed eligible to receive FY 2018 PBB, the ranking reports shall be the basis of release of PBB to eligible personnel."

"Details on the requirements and conditions for FY 2018 PBB are provided in Memorandum Circular No. 2018-1 “Guidelines on the Grant of the Performance-Based Bonus for Fiscal Year 2018 under Executive Order No. 80 s. 2012 and Executive Order No. 201 s. 2016” issued by the AO25 IATF. The initial findings on DepEd’s eligibility are posted on the Results-Based Performance Management System website."

The undersecretary also explained that the submission for qualification/eligibility for PBB 2018 is not an automatic eligibility for PBB, it has to undergo validation and compliance with certain requirements/conditions.

Sevilla said that there is no funding cover for PBB within the existing budget that the DepEd-finance manages.

"Once DepEd is evaluated eligible for PBB by the AO25 IATF, the funds from DBM to pay PBB goes directly to implementing units which are granted eligibility (by region)," added Sevilla.

"Anyone interested in the status/update of PBB eligibility may check from AO25TF directly through its website," Sevilla ended.
