Taytay Councilor Papoo Cruz announced through a Facebook post that President Duterte has declared February 17 as a local holiday in the whole municipality of Taytay for the celebation of HaMaKa festival.

"Abangers! Assemble!Ü Eto na! Holiday na sa buong Taytay sa Feb.17,2020 (Monday) dahil sa Presidential Proclamation 903," said Cruz.

"Napagbigyan po ulit ang Resolution natin requesting President Duterte to declare the 3rd Monday of Feb as a Special Non-Working Day sa Taytay in celebration of the HaMaKa Festival." the councilor added.

February 19, 2020 (Wednesday) was also declared as a special non-working holiday in Bago, Negros Occidental in celebration of its 53rd Charter Anniversary.

Meanwhile, February 25, 2020 (Tuesday) is a national holiday. Work and classes nationwide will be suspended in celebration of the EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary. The EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary celebration commemorates the peaceful demonstrations that occurred in 1986.
