Clarifications on the effectivity and payment of the salary increase of Deped employees for CY 2020 SSL5
The Department of Education (DepED) through Undersecretary for Finance-Budget and Performance Monitoring, Annalyn M. Sevilla, in her Facebook post, Saturday, January 25,2020, gave details and clarifications on the effectivity and payment of the salary increase for CY 2020 SSL5.
According to DepEd, the SSL-5 funds will be released to depEd via the Miscellaneous Personnel Benefit Fund (MPBF) from the Department of Budget and management (DBM).
The department said DepEd is waiting for the release of the SSL-4 implementing guidelines from DBM and the necessary funding cover before the adjustment of the salary of employees.
Since SSL-5 is effective January 2020, the depEd finance offices will compute and release salary differential starting January 2020 up to period when funding is available at DepEd level.

The salary pay slip will also be adjusted upon release of the Notice of salary Adjustment.

Effectivity = January 2020
Salary Differential = salary SSL5 less salary SSL4 (for months we didn’t receive the SSL5 yet; starting Jan 2020 until your payslip is adjusted to SSL5 rate)

Payslip and salary pay with SSL5 = when Notice of Salary Adjustment is issued by your unit/office’s HR when the following are complied with:
1. DBM Circular on implementation of SSL5 is issued; and
2. DBM release of funds to cover increase in salary (which will be from DBM-MPBF released to DepEd)
