Key Stage 3 (Junior High School) Three-Term Electronic Class Record

Key Stage 3 (Junior High School) Three-Term Electronic Class Record

As we transition to the Three-Term School Calendar for SY 2026-2027, Junior High School (JHS) teachers face a unique challenge. With the integration of specialized subjects like MAPEH and TLE alongside core academic areas, tracking student progress requires a more robust system.

To help JHS educators, we are releasing the Adjusted Three-Term Electronic Class Record (ECR) specifically designed for Key Stage 3 (Grades 7–10).

What’s New for Key Stage 3?

The JHS curriculum is diverse, and this ECR is built to handle that complexity. It is not just a simplified spreadsheet; it is a policy-compliant tool that automates the following:

  • Three-Term Grading Cycle: Computations are divided into three distinct terms instead of four quarters.
  • Subject-Specific Weighting: Automatically applies the correct percentages for Core vs. Skill-based subjects.
  • Summative Test Intervals: Pre-formatted sections for the 15-day and 30-day Summative Tests (STs).
  • Automatic Transmutation: Converts raw scores into the final transmuted grade instantly.

JHS Grading Components & Weights

Based on the recent assessment guidelines, the weights for Key Stage 3 are distributed as follows:

Learning Area Written Works (WW) Performance Tasks (PT) Summative Tests & Term Exam (STs-TE)
Core Subjects (English, Math, Science, AP, Filipino, EsP/GMRC) 20% 50% 30%
Skill-Based Subjects (TLE/EPP, MAPEH) 20% 60% 20%

Key Features of the Key Stage 3 ECR

  1. Learner Diversity Support: Includes a wider row capacity for large JHS sections.
  2. MAPEH Component Breakdown: A specialized tab to record Music, Arts, PE, and Health individually.
  3. Performance Task Tracking: Detailed descriptive titles for every task to help in anecdotal reporting.
  4. Quarterly-to-Term Bridge: A summary view that makes it easy to encode grades into the LIS.
Note: These templates are fully editable and follow the specific 15-day and 30-day summative assessment rules for the new 2026-2027 calendar.
