GSIS Solar Energy Loan

GSIS Solar Energy Loan

The Government Servive Insurance System (GSIS) recently opened applications for the Ginhawa Solar Energy Loan (GSEL) on March 25, 2026. This program is designed to help government employees finance the purchase and installation of residential solar panel systems to lower electricity costs.

Key Loan Features

* Maximum Loan Amount: You can borrow up to ₱500,000 to cover both equipment and installation costs.
•  Interest Rate: 5% per annum.
• Payment Term: The loan is payable over 5 years (60 equal monthly installments). For example, if you max out the ₱500,000 loan, your monthly amortization will be ₱10,416.67.

Fees: There is no service fee charged for this loan.

Disbursement & Repayment

Approved funds are credited directly to your bank account within three working days. Repayments are conveniently set up as automatic salary deductions, subject to the standard minimum net take-home pay requirements.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the GSEL, you must be:
• An active GSIS member employed in the government (permanent, regular, or non-career status).
• In government service for at least three years.

Special Insurance Perk

A major benefit of this program is that your financed solar panel system comes with three years of free insurance coverage protecting against fire, lightning, earthquakes, and typhoons. This coverage automatically takes effect once you notify GSIS and submit proof of the completed installation.

How to Apply

The application process is fully digital and handled through the GSIS Touch mobile app.

To apply, you will need to upload:

1. A formal quotation from your chosen solar provider, an installation agreement, or an official receipt (the program allows reimbursement for systems already installed starting in 2026).

2. Certification by your authorized agency officer.
