Malacañang approves PEI 2025 funding release

President Marcos authorizes grant, ending suspension and paving the way for immediate disbursement

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has officially authorized the immediate release of funds for the Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) FY 2025 grant, effective today, sources from Malacañang confirmed.

The presidential authorization ends the previously reported suspension on the disbursement of the already-funded grant, resolving a major bottleneck that had caused uncertainty among government employees.

The decision is expected to clear the way for the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to begin the final processing and subsequent release of the funds.

The PEI is a performance-based benefit established under the government's total compensation framework, designed to reward government workers for exceeding financial and operational targets and to motivate efforts toward higher productivity.

Key Details on the Grant:

Amount: The PEI is typically granted at a uniform rate of PhP 5,000 for each qualified government employee.

Full Eligibility: Employees are entitled to the full PhP 5,000 if they have rendered at least four months of satisfactory service as of November 30 of the current year.

Pro-Rated Grant for Shorter Service

For those who have rendered less than four months of service but are still in government service as of November 30, the PEI is prorated according to the following schedule:

Length of Service - Percentage of the PEI
● 3 months to less than 4 months - 50%
● 2 months to less than 3 months - 40%
● 1 month to less than 2 months - 30%
● Less than 1 month - 20%
