DepEd accelerates release of 2nd tranche of SRI

DepEd accelerates release of 2nd tranche of SRI: ₱20K Payout for Teachers nears Completion by December 31

December 26, 2025– Good news for over 1 million DepEd teachers and non-teaching staff: the Department of Education has begun the second tranche of the Fiscal Year 2025 Service Recognition Incentive (SRI), ensuring the full ₱20,000 payout reaches eligible ATM payroll accounts before year-end. This follows the first tranche of up to ₱14,500, already disbursed via Sub-Allotment Release Orders (Sub-AROs) to regional offices earlier this month.

Under DBM Budget Circular No. 2025-3, payments must begin no earlier than December 15 and be completed no later than December 31, 2025, to properly obligate funds from Personnel Services appropriations. Section 11.0 clearly spells out the details: "The payment of the SRI to all qualified government employees shall not be earlier than December 15, 2025, but not later than December 31, 2025." Missing this deadline risks funds becoming accounts payable, so DepEd is moving fast.

Education Secretary Sonny Angara directed the two-tranche rollout for efficiency, avoiding overdrafts while thanking President Marcos for approving the uniform ₱20,000 rate. Regional and division offices are now coordinating with DBM for allotment modifications to release the balance via Notices of Cash Allocation (NCAs).

Eligible personnel: Regular, contractual, or co-terminus employees with at least 4 months of satisfactory service by November 30, 2025 (across central, regional, division, and school levels).

Exclusions: Consultants, job orders, and those with unresolved administrative cases.

Pro-rated amounts: 40% for 3-4 months, 30% for 2-3 months, down to 10% for 1 month.
