GSIS opens nationwide Emergency Loan for members, pensioners
The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has launched a nationwide emergency loan program for its active members and pensioners. This action follows the declaration of a state of national calamity by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in the wake of Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi), and is also in preparation for the expected impact of Severe Tropical Storm Fung-Wong.
GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso emphasized that the program is intended to deliver prompt financial assistance to public sector workers and retirees impacted by the recent and anticipated weather events.
Veloso stressed the urgency of this aid, stating, "As our countrymen cope with the widespread destruction caused by Typhoon Tino and as we prepare for further calamities related to La Niña, it is crucial to provide swift financial relief to our public sector workers and retirees."
Loan Details
* Active members who qualify can borrow up to PHP20,000.
* Members who currently have an emergency loan can renew their loan and borrow up to PHP40,000, with their outstanding balance deducted from the new amount.
