MATATAG Curriculum Good Manners and Right Conduct (GMRC) and Values Education CG Grade 1, 4 & 7

Good Manners and Right Conduct (GMRC) and Values Education (VE) are core subjects in the K to 12 Basic Education Program according to Republic Act No. 11476, the GMRC and Values Education Act. GMRC refers to accepted social values, etiquette, and proper behavior that show respect towards others. Values Education is the process of internalizing values in young people, aiming to teach students ethical principles and the ability to act on them.

GMRC will be taught as a core subject in Grades 1 to 6 and integrated into Kindergarten. Values Education will be taught as a core subject in Grades 7 to 10, with GMRC integrated into these grades. The time allotment for these subjects will be the same as other core subjects (Section 4, RA 11476).
