January 2 is not declared as a holiday - Palace

The Palace has clarified that January 2 will not be a holiday.

On Friday, the Presidential Communications Office Secretary, Cheloy Garafil, confirmed that President Marcos would not declare January 2 as a holiday.

While December 26 was declared a special non-working holiday to allow people to celebrate the holiday with their loved ones, the same will not be true for January 2. December 30 (Rizal Day), December 31 (Last Day of the Year), and January 1 (New Year's Day) have already been declared holidays.

According to Proclamation No. 368, which lists the 2024 holidays, Filipinos can expect at least five long weekends, including the one coming up.
