DepEd to release SRI 2023 on December 19

The Department of Education (DepEd) of the Republic of the Philippines has issued a memorandum detailing the guidelines for the distribution of Service Recognition Incentives (SRIs) for its employees for the fiscal year 2023. This initiative is in line with Administrative Order No. 12, s. 2023, authorized by the Office of the President of the Philippines.

Undersecretary and Chief of Staff, Atty. Michael Wesley T. Poa and Assistant Secretary for Operations Francis Cesar B. Bringas, have instructed all Regional Directors, Schools Division Superintendents, and other Implementing Units (IUs) to adhere to the prescribed guidelines for releasing these incentives.

Key highlights of the memorandum include:

1. Uniform Incentive Amount:
All qualified DepEd employees are set to receive a uniform Service Recognition Incentive amounting to eighteen thousand pesos (PHP 18,000.00).
2. Payment Processing and Distribution Schedule:
The processing of payments will start on December 18, 2023, with the actual distribution of the SRIs scheduled to commence on December 19, 2023.
3. Mode of Distribution: The default distribution mode for the SRIs will be in cash only.
4. Exceptions for Far-flung Areas: Teachers in remote areas are eligible for an exception to the cash-only distribution policy. These teachers can receive their SRIs via their payroll ATMs upon their written request.

The Department of Education emphasizes expediting the payment process while adhering to the usual budget, accounting, and auditing rules.

SUBJECT : Guidance on the Releasing of Service Recognition Incentives (SRIs)

In compliance with Administrative Order No. 12, s. 2023 or the Authorizing the Grant of Service Recognition Incentive to Government Employees for Fiscal Year 2023 as promulgated by the Office of the President of the Philippines, all Regional and Schools Division Offices are hereby directed to observe the following guidelines for the releasing of the cash incentive:

1. The Service Recognition Incentive to be distributed to qualified DepEd employees shall be a uniform amount of eighteen thousand pesos (PHP 18,000.00).

2. Schools Division Offices and other Implementing Units shall begin the processing of payments on December 18, 2023 (Monday), and the distribution of the SRIs shall commence on December 19, 2023 (Tuesday).

3. The default mode of distribution of the SRIs shall be in cash only.

4. Exception on the cash-only mode of distribution shall only be afforded for teachers in far-flung areas and only upon their written request. The SRIs of the concerned teachers may be distributed via their payroll ATMs.

All offices concerned with the processing and releasing the SRI are expected to expedite the payment subject to usual budget, accounting, and auditing rules.
