FAKE: Two days salary deduction for March from all gov't employees

The memo about the salary deduction circulating in social media is fake.

The fake memo stated that Malacañang releases a memorandum proposing the deduction of two days salary for the month of March from all government employees for President Relief Fund for Turkey and Syria.

MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR

TWO DAYS SALARY DEDUCTION FOR THE MONTH MARCH 2023 FROM ALL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES FOR PRESIDENT RELIEF FUND FOR TURKEY AND SYRIA

The unfortunate earthquake occurred in Turkey on 6 February 2023 have caused significant human and livestock causalities as well as wide spread damage to private homes and public infrastructures. Damage to infrastructure has worsened the humanitarian situation. To extend maximum support to Turkish Government and people to help them cope with the distractions caused by the earthquake a fund has been established/opened as PRESIDENT'S RELIEF FUND FOR TURKEY EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS. it is further proposed deduction of salary from government employees .

The President considered the proposal and approved the deductions as under:

i) Two day salary of Officers/Official working in the Ministries/Divisions/Departments/Authorities/Corporations/Companies/Financial Institutions/Commission etc working under the Federal Government.

(ii) Two day salary of Officers/Official of Civil and Armed Forces

iii) Two day salary of Officers/Official holding post on contract as well as lump sum pay package including M Scale and MP and SPPS Scale and Officers /Official's locally recruited in our Foreign Missions.

Further all Divisions are directed to approach state run organizations under them, such as Banks, Financial institutions, Telecom Companies and insurance Companies etc.
