BBM: Sara Duterte to serve as DepEd secretary
Leading vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte will serve as Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary once elected, said leading presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in a televised speech on Wednesday.
“I’ve already been authorized to announce the first nominee we will be giving to the Commission on Appointments when the time comes should I be proclaimed. That is that our incoming Vice President has agreed to take the Department of Education,” said Marcos Jr. in a televised speech.
Tinanong ko sa kanya kung kaya nya yung trabaho dahil mahirap ang trabaho ng secretary of education. Pero nag-agree naman siya,” said Marcos.
Sara Duterte-Carpio will replace Sec. Leonor Briones as Education Secretary and be in charge of all matters of the country's educational sector, including policies, academic standards, and programs.
