DepEd implements twice-a-month salary program

The Department of Education (DepEd) started to implement the twice-a-month release of the salaries of its personnel.

Several public school teachers in different areas already received their January salary with the implementation of the twice-a-month salary program.

Mr. Kristhean M. Navales, Quezon City Public School Teachers Association (QCPSTA) President also confirmed that SDO Quezon City already implemented the twice-a-month salary program.

Earlier information circulated through forwarded text brigade and messager post that the DepEd Central Office has recalled the previously released program for twice a month payroll preparation for revision.

"Please be informed that the prior issued program for twice a month payroll preparation was recalled by the Central Office for revision, thus payroll preparation for the current month would be the usual process (once a month payroll). The usual payroll processing will be in effect until further notice. Thank you and keep everyone safe." according to information.

Sec. Leonor Magtolis Briones, DepEd Secretary, approved the implementation of the twice-a-month release of the salaries of DepEd personnel upon the recommendation of the DepEd Central Office APDS Task Force through APDS Force Resolution No. 06, s. 2021 entitled "A Resolution Recommending the Approval to Utilize the Existing FoxPro Program of Regional Offices that Implement the Twice A Month Salary Release to DepEd Regional Office Proper."

As stated in the memo, "the release of salaries of teachers and employees on a twice-a-month basis shall be implemented using the existing FoxPro" payroll program for payrolls prepared in the RSPU, subject to necessary adjustments by the SDD-ICTS on the payslips wherein the Net Take Home Pay (NTHP) shall be equally divided into two (2), except for the centavos which will be credited on the 30th day of the payroll month. The Heads of PSUs are instructed to directly coordinate with the SDD-ICTS on the necessary adjustment on the payroll program."

It was also stated that the schedule of salary releases should be every 15th and 30th day of the month to provide ample time for the processing of Form 7 and other salaries/employee profile adjustments to be submitted by the Schools Divisions.
