Backriding on motorcycles will be allowed for partners starting Friday, as announced by Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo on Thursday.

"Living in one household whether they are married, common-law husband and wife, or boyfriend and girlfriend but they're living in one household," will be allowed, said Secretary Año on Thursday.

The secretary said in an interview that couples may now travel on the same motorcycle beginning Friday as government allowed backriding provided there is a protective shield mounted in between the driver and the passenger.

Here are some reactions and comments from netizens regarding this announcement:

"Sana di limited sa magasawa or partner.
