All DepEd offices, units within Luzon to work from home assignment starting March 17

"Given the unequivocal directive in paragraph 4 of the said Memorandum specifying the agencies exempted from the work from home arrangement, and consistent with the Secretary's instruction to implement the directives, ALL DEPED OFFICES AND UNITS WITHIN LUZON SHALL BE ON WORK FROM HOME ARRANGEMENT TODAY, MARCH 17, 2020, unless a contrary instruction is given by the Secretary or the Execom collectively. "
The Department of Education (DepEd) through Chief-of-Staff and Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan, announced that all DepEd offices and units within Luzon shall be on "work from home arrangement" starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020. This is in response to the order of President Rodrigo Duterte to place the entire Luzon on an Enhanced Community Quarantine effective mifnight of March 17 until April 13, 2020.

Here is the announcement from Chief-of-Staff and Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan.

"Dear all, at the Execom Teleconferencing Meeting last night, which ended at about 11 p.m., our discussion of the announced enhanced community quarantine for Luzon was that DepEd will allow personnel performing identified critical tasks that can only be done at the office, to still come to the office provided they have transportation arrangements that adhere to strict social distancing guidelines."

"However, the discussion did not have the benefit of the Memorandum dated 16 March, 2020 by Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea providing guidelines for the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon. Nonetheless, the instruction of Secretary Briones at the Execom meeting was that DepEd will implement the directives coming from the Office of the President when already issued."

"All Execom members and Regional Directors shall continue to implement DM 43, s. 2020, subject to the work arrangement obtaining in the new Memo by the Executive Srcretary. More detailed guidelines will be issued later in the day, based on instructions by the Secretary or the Execom acting collectively."
