Plan your vacations ahead. Here's the list of long weekends for August 2019.

August 12, 2019 (Monday) - Eidul Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice)
Eidul Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) is a Muslim celebration that honors the willingness of Ibrahim to obey Allah and also commemorates the end of the Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca). Eid al-Adha 2019 in Philippines will begin in the evening of Sunday, 11 August and ends in the evening of Monday, 12 August.

However the date will only be confirmed once the NCMF informs the President’s office of the actual day and a proclamation is made.


According to Islamic traditions, Allah tested the prophet Ibrahim’s obedience by commanding him to sacrificially slaughter his first, and then only, son Ishmael. Both Ibrahim and Ishmael’s willingness to obey Allah’s commands was rewarded by Allah sparing Ishmael’s life, but also led to the birth of a second son, Is-haaq.



August 21, 2019 (Wednesday) - Ninoy Aquino Day
Ninoy Aquino Day, which falls on August 21 is a national non-working holiday in the Philippines observed annually, commemorating the assassination of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr.


August 26, 2019 (Monday) - National heroes Day
National Heroes' Day, celebrated every 4th Monday of August is a national holiday of the Philippines,. National Heroes Day in 2019 is on the Monday, 26th of August (8/26/2019).

NHD is celebrated to pay homage to the National Heroes of the country. Initially National Heroes' day was celebrated on November 30 as it was the birthday of Andres Bonifacio, founder of the Katipunan. It was moved to the fourth Monday of August, to pay tribute to all other known or unknown men and women who sacrificed their lives for Philippine freedom.
