Grant of Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) FY 2024 for government employees

Grant of Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) FY 2024 for government employees

The Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) is a one-time benefit granted to qualified government employees in the Philippines, acknowledging their dedication and contributions to public service.

The legal foundation for the SRI is rooted in several key issuances:
1. Congress Joint Resolution No. 4 (s. 2009):

This resolution authorizes the President, upon the recommendation of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), to update the Compensation and Position Classification System for civilian personnel, including the establishment of incentives and benefits.

2. Administrative Orders (AOs):
Over the years, the President has issued several AOs to authorize the grant of the SRI:
- AO No. 19 (s. 2019): Authorized the SRI for Fiscal Year (FY) 2019.
- AO No. 37 (s. 2020): Authorized the SRI for FY 2020.
- AO No. 45 (s. 2021): Authorized the SRI for FY 2021.
- AO No. 1 (s. 2022): Authorized the SRI for FY 2022.
- AO No. 12 (s. 2023): Authorized the SRI for FY 2023.

3. DBM Budget Circulars: The DBM issues guidelines for the implementation of the SRI:
- Budget Circular No. 2023-2 (December 13, 2023): Provided guidelines on the grant of the SRI for FY 2023.

As of November 7, 2024, there has been no official issuance regarding the SRI for FY 2024.

Typically, such issuances are released towards the end of the fiscal year. Government employees are advised to monitor official communications from the Office of the President and the DBM for updates on the SRI for FY 2024.
