National Online Orientation on the Implementation of Catch-Up Fridays

The Department of Education (DepEd) has announced the implementation of Catch-Up Fridays as part of the National Reading and Mathematics Programs. This initiative falls under the Pagbasa at Pagkuwenta: Pag-asa (P3) and is a crucial component of the National Learning Recovery Program, as outlined in DepEd Order No. 013, s. 2023. This step aligns with the MATATAG Education Agenda, which aims to bolster national educational standards.

The Office of the Undersecretary for Curriculum and Teaching is organizing a National Online Orientation to ensure the smooth rollout of Catch-Up Fridays. This orientation is pivotal for the program's success and will be conducted separately for Luzon on January 15, 2024, and for Visayas and Mindanao on January 16, 2024. The orientation invites the participation of CLMD and CID Chiefs, along with Education Program Supervisors from regional and schools division offices across all learning areas. NATIONAL ONLINE ORIENTATION ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CATCH-UP FRIDAYS

Date : January 9, 2024

1. Aligned with the MATATAG Education Agenda, the Department of Education (DepEd) is set to implement Catch-Up Fridays under the National Reading and Mathematics Programs, specifically the Pagbasa at Pagkuwenta: Pag-asa (P3), as critical subprograms of the National Learning Recovery Program stipulated in DepEd Order No. 013, s. 2023.

2. To ensure a seamless implementation of Catch-up Fridays, the Office of the Undersecretary for Curriculum and Teaching will spearhead the National Online Orientation on the Implementation of Catch-Up Fridays. The orientation for Luzon is scheduled on January 15, 2024 while that of Visayas and Mindanao will be on January 16, 2024. Please refer to Enclosure No. 1 for the Program Matrix.

3. Participants in the online orientation are CLMD and CID Chiefs together with Education Program Supervisors from the regional and schools division offices in all learning areas. They are expected to log in to the online meeting before 9 am using the link below:
