2022 1st Quarterly Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill Activities
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) announced that the 2022 first Online National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) will be held on Thursday, March 10.
"Sa ating mga kababayan, sabay-sabay tayo muling mag-Duck, Cover, and Hold sa ika-10 ng Marso, alas-nuwebe nang umaga!," said OCD in a Facebook post.
Due to the limitations in the conduct of mass gatherings in adherence to the COVID-19 required health standards, NSED exercises requiring physical interaction, particularly evacuation drills in DepEd offices and schools are hereby suspended.
However, all DepEd personnel and learners are enjoined to simultaneously practice the "duck, cover, and hold" procedure at the set times. Other exercises such as virtual earthquake drills, tabletop, and functional exercises may also be done while adhering to the minimum public health standards.
To ensure awareness and preparedness on the impending threat of the inevitable occurrence of an earthquake, even during the pandemic, Information, Education, and Communications (IEC) campaigns in NSED using distant means must be intensified.
Attached herewith is a copy of the Guidelines on the Submission of the 2022 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) Reports as "annex A and B".
