NLC 2024-2025 Reading Program Narrative Report Free Download

The National Learning Camp (NLC) Reading program for elementary learners, held from July 1st to 19th, 2024, was a heartwarming success in nurturing a love for reading and building essential literacy skills. The program followed a three-week structure, focusing on building a strong foundation, exploring the world of stories, and applying reading skills creatively.

Week 1: 
* Interactive read-aloud, storytelling sessions, and word games to ignite a love for reading
* Personalized learning plans tailored to individual reading levels and needs
* Focus on phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary development, comprehension, and fluency

Week 2: Exploring the World of Stories:
* Immersive exploration of diverse genres and authors
* Shared reading, guided reading, and independent reading activities
* Creative activities like bookmaking, character analysis, and storytelling

Week 3: Applying Reading Skills and Celebrating Literacy
* Reader's theater performances, book talks, and creative writing activities
* Showcase of significant progress by students in the Intervention Camp
* "Reading Fiesta" to celebrate achievements and foster a love for reading

The NLC Reading program successfully combined face-to-face interactions, engaging activities, virtual collaboration, and the celebration of reading to create a nurturing environment. Students improved their reading skills and developed a deeper appreciation for stories, setting them on a path to becoming lifelong learners and avid readers.
